Power has become a basic need in our daily life and the demand is bound to increase exponentially as cities expand, villages prosper and technology advances. More devices will be run on electricity and Grid Power will become expensive year by year. Grid Power Quality is poor and load shedding is common in developing countries. Getting uninterrupted and conditioned source of power remains a distant dream for most consumers.
Governments are trying to meet the burgeoning power demand by setting up MW Scale Large Power Plants but supply will always lag demand and won’t keep pace due to delays in Land Acquisition, Project implementation and Financial constraints. Indian Govt has set a target of achieving Renewable Energy Generation capacity of 20000MW by 2020 and new policies encourage de-centralized Wind-Solar Power Generation on rooftops. Rooftop power generation is a successful model worldwide and the concept is slowly picking-up in India with increase in Per-Capita income and the greater awareness among consumers. Small Wind-Solar Industry for less than 100KW is highly unorganized in India and many of the installations are not operating to the satisfaction of the consumer creating apprehension on reliability and Power Generation capability of such systems.
